The last year in Franz Kafka's lifeand its surprising love story.

In 1923, Franz Kafka and Dora Diamant meet by chance on the Baltic Sea coast. The two seem to be as different as possible: he is a world-renowned writer who spends much time in his thoughts, while she is a down-to-earth dancer. But these apparent differences do not prevent them from embracing their shared love. However, their budding happiness is soon marked with an expiration date, as Kafka’s health is in very poor condition. They are left with only a year together before Kafka’s body gives out, leading to his death and leaving Dora behind.
